What Can a Concierge Do for You?
With so many projects and responsibilities as a property manager, it’s easy to overlook why a concierge or front desk personnel can be so important. Although a concierge is not for everyone, it’s not a bad idea to look into some of the benefits of having one. Here are a few ways that a concierge can leave a positive impact on your property and community.
Warm Greetings
Positive energy is contagious! Let your concierge be the one to start everyone’s day in a positive direction as they walk through your lobby. Kind, courteous ‘good morning’s’ along with a warm smile can impact how others go about their day. This alone can bring a positive lift to the entire community.
Communication is Key
Having a concierge who is constantly communicating with your residents and guests can help you gain feedback ahead of time before problems arise. If someone is upset with a specific issue within your building, they may share this with your concierge as a light complaint before taking it to management. Your concierge can then notify you in advance allowing you to correct the situation before it turns into something bigger.
Safety and Awareness
Another big factor for having a concierge is that is raises safety and security for your residents. While it may not be the concierge’s job to be a security guard, having someone placed in your front lobby at all times can discourage theft and other related issues. Also, if any major emergencies ever happen, you’ve got someone there to call 911.
As a property manager, look for individuals with positive enthusiasm and a good sense of awareness that can help build your property’s community. Whether you plan on hiring from the inside or outsourcing with a service company, having a concierge in your building can mean the world of a difference in so many ways.
